I am not sure how much Google’s endorsement is worth. Remember Dart?

My biggest concern of Kotlin is that it is only limited to Android, but Java is ubiquitous. Desktop, server side, Android, embedded, etc. Until Kotlin has reached such a scale, I won’t consider it. Plus, Java is an evolving language, too.
